What is a public adjuster?
A public insurance adjuster works directly for policyholders like you in property damage claims, helping document damages, interpret policies, and affect settlements with insurance companies. Public adjusters are licensed to adjust claims for policyholder, and do not adjust claims for insurance companies.
How much does it cost to hire a public adjuster?
In Minnesota, we charge a percentage of the claim settlement for claims adjusting services, based on the total Replacement Cost Value of the claim.
Do you offer claims adjusting or appraisal services?
We offer claims adjusting services, which allows us to be of service for every part of your claim, and almost any claim issue. Apprasial is an alternative dispute resolution method (ADR) that is limited and binding. Based on our licensing and expertise, we do not currently offer appraisal services, so that we can provide total claim management for every client.
When should I contact a public adjuster?
You don't have to work with a public adjuster, yet considering that property policies have deadlines, and other issues, it's a good idea to have at least one to contact if you run into issues, or at the beginning of a claim. Contact us as soon as possible after property damage occurs, ideally before filing a claim or accepting any settlement offers. An issue we see often, is policyholders "waiting to see what happens" after they encounter claim issues like denials or delays, which unfortunately can lead to missing key policy and claim deadlines. This can lead to total claim denials, so a complimentary, no obligation claim review can be a good idea to get clarity.
Do I need a public adjuster if my insurance company provided one?
Insurance company adjusters work for the insurer. A public adjuster works exclusively for you, ensuring your interests are protected.
What types of losses do you handle?
We handle all types of property damage claims, including fire, water, storm damage, and complex commercial claims for HOAs and businesses.
How long do claims take to settle?
Each claim is unique. It could take 6 days, 3 months, or years for some clients with large or complex losses. We generally recommend getting us involved sooner, rather than later. In our experience, the longer you wait to address claim issues, often the more expensive and longer it takes to slove them, if left unaddressed. We have no interest for a claim to take longer than needed to settle.
